The Galactic Civil War for Forces of Corruption

Elite's Conflict Mod is a free-to-use game utility for the 2006 expansion pack Star Wars: Empire at War: Forces of Corruption. In this community-made mod, powered by moddb, you get to reenact segments of the Galactic Civil War, a galaxy-spanning battle featured in the original Star Wars trilogy.

You can go on reimagined campaigns based on the official timeline, deploy new units and wage war on entirely new planets. Elite’s Conflict Mod lets players experience the movies from a different vantage point. Other additional content for Forces of Corruption includes the Star Wars: Empire at War map pack.

Side with the Alliance or the Empire

Most of the content within Elite's Conflict Mod revolves around the war between the Rebel Alliance and the evil Galactic Empire. As such, it features new units, buildings, and models These custom materials capture a slightly separate timeline than what the base game covers. Additionally, their effects and animations also stand out thanks to the customized model textures and in-game particles.

In terms of the story, you can play on either side and pursue their goals that may lead you down a path similar to the movies or an entirely different outcome. Aside from the war and conquest aspect of the mod, developers behind this project also made some changes to the existing in-game trading system to add an entirely new level of gameplay.

Since the mod was intended to create a unique experience within the Forces of Corruption game, it suffers from a few limitations. The most prominent of which is that the mod doesn’t apply to the vanilla campaign, or the missions included in the base game. This feels like a missed opportunity to use the introduced units and buildings in the original game campaign.

Recreating the classic films

Whether you’re looking to overrun the galaxy with Star Destroyers or command the fight for freedom with an X-Wing squadron, Elite's Conflict Mod will give you many opportunities to participate in the iconic Galactic Civil War. Not only does it feature new units and building models but it also takes into consideration the textures and animation, creating a wealth of content that fits perfectly with the base game.
